Fellesrådets politiske kampanje for 2019 skal handle om migrasjon på og fra det afrikanske kontinentet, og vi trenger folk som er opptatt av å løfte frem den nyanserte virkeligheten på kontinentet, hvem disse menneskene er og hvilke muligheter migrasjon skaper.

Female sanitary pads, reproductive health, and menstruation in particular, is a topic deemed taboo in many African countries. Menstruation is often associated with uncleanliness and impurity, and there is little awareness about the importance of adequate sanitary facilities. What role does the language surrounding female sanitation play in stigmatizing women and their bodies? And what role does wider society play in directly or indirectly restricting the access women have to sanitary products?
Denis Nzioka lives in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. He is openly gay, has written a number of articles on LGBT and other human rights issues, and has more than 8000 followers on Twitter. In 2013 he was a candidate in the Kenyan presidential elections.
How is life as an openly gay man in Nairobi? How are the reactions from friends and family? Why is the situation so different from neighboring Uganda? And will the ongoing legal case to decriminalize homosexuality have a positive ruling?
The successive oil spills in the Niger Delta in southern Nigeria over the last decades have destroyed the local fishery, the drinking water and the opportunity to cultivate land. But who is responsible? Is it solely the Nigerian government? What about oil companies operating in the area? The Norwegian pension fund has shares in Shell that is operating in the Delta - should they be held responsible? And what about the local groups sabotaging the oil infrastructure?
14. april var det klart for årsmøte i Fellesrådet, og selv om årsmøtet i år var lagt til en lørdag, var det godt oppmøte. Det ble stemt inn et nytt styre, i tillegg til at neste års kampanjetema ble vedtatt.
Den nyvalgte presidenten i Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed (Farmaajo), henvendte seg til Al-Shabab, Al-Qaida og IS i sin innvielsestale i 2017 med ordene: "Til de av dere som arbeider med militante ekstremister, vit at deres tid er over." Likevel opplevde landet det blodigste terrorangrepet i landets historie bare måneder senere. Har Farmaajo levd opp til forventningene, og hvordan er situasjonen i landet nå?

Fellesrådet for Afrika utlyser med dette en studentpraktikantstilling for høsten 2018. Masterstudenter med mulighet for å integrere praktikantstillingen i pågående utdanning inviteres til å søke praksis i organisasjonen for å drive faglig arbeid i et spennende fagmiljø om Afrika.
Ved en rekke mastergradstudier er det anledning til å velge et praktikant-emne som del av utdanningen. Studenter tilknyttet denne typen mastergrader er velkomne til å tilbringe mellom 4 og 12 uker ved Fellesrådets kontor i Oslo for å jobbe i organisasjonen med faglige spørsmål.
Stillingen er ikke lønnet utover de studiepoengene man får. De fleste i denne situasjonen vil imidlertid ha rett til støtte fra Lånekassen.
